Unit Study: Farm + Animals

Our April homeschool unit study theme was Farm + Animals, again taking a lot of direction from our monthly Compass Crate subscription box. At the start of the month we headed down to beautiful Mona, Utah to go to the Young Living Farm Easter Eggstravaganza. It was a first for all of us and was a fantastic day out – and a really solid start to our unit study.  The girls enjoyed pony rides and a petting farm along with a huge selection of carnival games and Easter Egg hunt.

During April we raised butterflies, planted lots of seeds for our vegetable garden, watched Babe, spun wool, visited the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point, and designed and sewed up a farm themed play mat. Pinterest has a whole plethora of free ideas and themed prints and worksheets for you to add into your studies. Check out the Farm + Animals  board I have pinned to see some of the activities we focused on.
