This fancy looking, chocolatey bread wreath I made at Christmas time got a whole lot of attention on my personal instagram account when I posted it. I think I text pictures of it to everyone I knew too!
I used my favourite cinnamon roll dough recipe, you can use your favourite, my favourite, a new experimental one or even a tube of pilsbury dough I’m sure. Pinterest is there for ya on this one!
Roll out the dough on a floured surface, slather 3/4 cup of warmed up nutella all over it, sprinkle a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg on top, and then roll it up like you’re making cinnamon rolls.
Next, take a sharp knife and cut the dough-snake straight through from end to end to expose the beautiful, stripey middle.
Then, you braid. Keep the two piece side by side and cross them over, alternating to create your twisty braid.
Place it on a silicon mat/parchment paper on a baking sheet and arrange it in the wreath shape.
Bake according to your dough of choices instructions, until golden.
Cool 10 minutes and dust with powdered sugar before uncontrollably tucking into it.
I promptly cut the whole thing up and delivered it to my neighbours because I would have eaten the whole thing myself, happily.
This whole concept would be amazing with orange chocolate, maybe an almond version, or something with fresh raspberries? So many options!
